Required Dancewear for Academic Dance Classes

Girls - Required dancewear is available through the school office at an exclusive discount to HSMD students. No need to pay shipping...we'll order for you. Some sizing examples available at the office*. Please let us know what you need and size.
	Creative Ballet and Ballet Classes
		Short-sleeved pink leotard ($14), pink pull-on skirt ($7.50), white tights ($6), and pink leather ballet flats* ($12.50)
	Lyrical
		Black tank ($14), black wrap-skirt ($11) or black dance shorts ($11), lyric sandals (optional $10)
	Broadway/Musical Theatre
		Jazz Pants ($25), jazz shoes ($26), white HSMD t-shirt ($8)
	Hip Hop
		Dance sneakers* ($35), white HSMD t-shirt ($8), black cargo pants ($25)
	Students in hip hop are required to have indoor-only* sneakers that have non-marking soles. They are not required to purchase dance sneakers although it is highly recommended as these shoes are designed with dancers in mind and feature split-sole arch support, lightweight design, reinforced heel counter, and special tread for turns on any surface.




Students need to wear clothing that shows their bodies and that they can move in. Hair needs to be out of the face, either in a bun if it is long or in a pony tail if it’s shorter. Hair needs to not be a distraction when dancing. Jewelry should not be worn in class except for secure rings and stud earrings.
